New Market Area and two new partners in Arkitema

23 August 2021

As part of preparing Arkitema for the future and keeping up with the growing demand for green solutions in the commercial markets, Arkitema is expanding its focus and has created a new market area called Commercial & Infrastructure. Leading the area will be Market Director and Partner Glenn Elmbæk. At the same time, Arkitema has hired John Strandfelt and Mette Neimann, who join the studio as Partners for the two new business areas Energy, Water & Industry and Mobility.

Arkitema has been working with infrastructure and office projects for more than 50 years, and Arkitema was founded to specifically design an office project in 1969 - Køge City Hall. Now the architects see that the market is increasingly demanding projects within this area, and therefore want to focus their efforts in areas that are also very close to the markets in which the rest of COWI is strong.

"The expansion with these new business areas is a natural development for Arkitema. Our cooperation with COWI is working very well and is getting stronger and stronger as we get to know each other better and solve more and more large and complex projects together. We have a clear assumption that these are areas in which we will create great growth in the coming years," says Senior Market Director at Arkitema, Jørgen Bach.

The increased focus has also meant that Arkitema has brought in new forces in the form of John Strandfelt and Mette Neimann, both of whom previously served as partners and business area managers at Gottlieb Paludan Architects. Here they have been behind a variety of projects in areas such as public transport, energy production and data centres.
